Now you can watch hundreds of rattlesnakes in a ‘mega-den' – from the safety of your computer
·1 min
A new live-streaming webcam now allows viewers to observe the activities within a den housing numerous rattlesnakes. Situated on private land in Colorado, the den provides a conducive environment for the snakes to hide and seek shelter. Pregnant rattlesnakes can be seen basking and interacting as they wait to give birth in the summer. Viewers may also witness rare events such as predator attacks and snakes drinking rainwater. The live stream provides an opportunity for unbiased scientific research while offering the public a chance to observe natural snake behavior. The arrival of pups is expected in August, and the stream will resume next spring after the snakes’ hibernation period.
